In the last few weeks we’ve each been working on a creative font each, and today you get to see the final pieces. Mind you, a custom font could easily stay a WIP for a very ling time. Each font has been inspired by something ephemeral, Swish started off as a torn thread.

Create. Shape. Mold.
This week in the studio we have gone back a few years to the days of salty play-doh. We have a poster campaign in the works for Enmore Audio and thought we’d give you a little teaser of the fun we are having. The idea behind the poster campaign is inspired from a music producers job is to create, shape, and mold a piece of music. Keep an eye out for the posters in the coming weeks!
Oh and why not whip up a Play-Doh typeface for DPM Creative Group while we’re at it…

Out with the old, in with the new!
This week the DPM team has been working closely with interior stylist Diana to create a fresh identity for her company, Pink Paisley Designs. It’s been somewhat of a dream job where we got to play with all things pretty and girly and translate it into something strong and unique. We compiled this mood board to inspire us towards a stark resolution. We filled it with simple and elegant design to emulate space and quality.

Type Design
This week in the studio we are conjuring up some hand crafted and creative typefaces, using found objects such as torn thread, and taking them into the computer.
Below you can get an idea of some of our early outcomes, exciting! We find time and time again it pays to start with a tangible product. Let it take shape organically, get your hands dirty! and then refine it with the help of the computer.

Luxury Logo Design
A luxury brand identity is on the agenda for the studio this week.
Our brief is provide an outcome that is untouchable, but understated, eluding to height, security and wealth.
Before putting pen to paper we always reference existing iconic designs, in this case, logos we associate with opulence.
Rolls Royce, Tiffany & Co. and Rolex are some of the most widely recognised logos for luxury goods. Logos such as these provide us with reference for type, height, solids, and composition.
